Your Amazon Adventure Starts Here
The Amazon is not just something you see — it's something you truly experience.
Book your Tambopata Amazon tour today and explore one of the most untouched regions of the rainforest with a unique lodge stay in Peru.
The journey begins when you arrive in Puerto Maldonado to board an outboard boat along the Madre de Dios River to Ecolucerna Lodge (approximately 1 ½ hrs downriver). Upon arrival you will enjoy a tasty lunch made from organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch you will take a walk along the natural trails, where you will discover and learn about the primary and secondary forest, its components, uses, man-made transformations, and its relevance to the world. This walk will end at night where you will have the opportunity to observe the behavior of nocturnal flora and fauna of the Amazon.
Returning to the Lodge you will enjoy a restorative traditional dinner.
Meals: Lunch and dinner.
Today you will live a day full of emotions. After having a nutritious breakfast, you will get ready for a walk along the Tambopata National Reserve, which will take you to Sandoval Lake. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is known as the biodiversity capital of Peru. You will learn about the conservation work of the Reserve and about the formation of the lake, sailing in a canoe through this body of water, home of the endangered giant otter, the blue and yellow macaw, and one of the largest freshwater fish in the world, the "Paiche".
At night you will have an interesting excursion, sailing along the Madre de Dios River, to learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian ravines, and the behavior of nocturnal fauna on the banks of the river. Our day ends with a traditional dinner in the dining room.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Today will be a morning of adventure. We head to the bridges built 15 meters above the ground, right in the treetops, with a privileged view that will allow us to enjoy a unique, relaxing and informative landscape. We will have the opportunity to observe birds, and if we are lucky, some mammals in the middle of the Amazon. This walk also shows us the rescue center, a foundation with which ECOLUCERNA collaborates very actively and daily in the effort to preserve the biological life of our ecosystem. Get to know exotic species and their fascinating history on this tour.
In the afternoon, after lunch, immerse yourself in the culture of the Peruvian Amazon during our artisanal fishing experience, a practice that few travelers enjoy but will teach you how magical it can be to explore the rivers and streams in the Bajo Madre de Dios. Let's try our luck with artisanal equipment in the company of our expert guides and take dinner home.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
This morning you will be free to enjoy the sunrise and capture the impressive views of the Madre de Dios River.
Enjoy a last nutritious breakfast with organic ingredients from our pantry before leaving.
Your guide and the staff in charge will bid you farewell and thank you for your visit to this part of the Amazon.
We will travel by canoe back to Puerto Maldonado. Depending on your flight departure time, you can decide to go directly to the airport or stay in the center to get to know a little of Puerto Maldonado.
